This episode (download here), the Geeks are alone. During this episode, they discuss the very interesting changes to the Boston Marathon qualifying times and registration process and go over their week in training. Jason has been focusing on cross-training, Raymond is still (ahem) resting.
This week Boston Athletic Association announced changes to the qualifying times and registration process for future Boston Marathons. Basically, for 2012 and forward, subtract 5 minutes from your previous Boston qualifying time. That means 3hr5min marathon is needed to qualify for Boston for us geeks. Not only that, but the registration changed. Runners who qualified more than 20 minutes under their needed time get to register first, then 10 minutes, then 5 minutes, then all qualified runners.
Also, Jason is going bald! Yes, you read that right. He his having his head shaved for St. Baldrick’s. St. Baldrick’s raises money for childhood cancer research. We don’t usually ask you for donations, but this is for a great cause. To donate for Jason, click here
As noted in our previous post, we have decided on a shirt design and t-shirts with this design are now ready to order on CafePress. To place an order, check out the GiRS CafePress store

An idea for your GiRS shirt giveaway. Offer it to the person who donates the most to Jason’s charity fundraiser. That might push some donations. Great show!
Good idea! We actually thought about that, but thought it would be unfair to those who couldn’t afford to give a lot.
True! Maybe all donors can be entered into a drawing.
Oh True!!! My bad. Okay so for everyone who makes a donation (regardless of amount), their name will be entered in a drawing for a free Geeks tshirt. Anyway, you’re doing great on your fundraiser. What a great way to help kids! I love it. Can’t wait to see the bald pics.
