Happy New Year everyone! For our first episode of 2011 (download here), the Geeks recap the holidays and look forward towards 2011. If it all goes as planned, this is going to be a great and exciting year! Both the us had a solid week of training this past week, we actually ran! Woohoo!
The discussion begins with the guys recapping what running related gifts they each received for Christmas. Jason got some winter running gear, a Garmin Forerunner 205, and an iPod Shuffle. Ray also got some winter running gear and was treated to a shoe fitting session at the Running Away Multisport store in chicago. In the end, he got a pair of Ascis DS Trainer 16 shoes.
**Also, as a gift to all of us in the running community, the makers of the popular iPhone and Android app – RunKeeper – are offering the pro version of the RunKeeper app for FREE for the month of January. So, if you have an iPhone or an Android based device, go ahead and snag this awesome app.
Also this episode, Jason goes into detail about the upcoming MojoStLoco and the Mojo Loco movement that a few of us in the running community want to get going this year. Jason will be setting up and hosting the MojoStLoco on June 25th, 2011. Check out the MojoLoco wiki page for more information.
Besides that, Ray is working on an endeavor that aims to tackle the problem of staying motivated and accomplishing our personal goals. It is called Goals Give Round. The premise behind Goals Give Round is to help people that are serious about completing personal goals by aligning each of their goals to a cause. If you get a chance, please visit this landing page and send Ray your feedback.

Hey guys
Just got through listening to this episode…yeah I am behind the curve!
Anyway a couple of things that struck me. The Garmin 305 is not retired in fact Garmin has no intention of retiring as stated during an interview with them http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2010/11/garmin-plans-to-keep-on-selling-fr305.html
The other thing was Ray kept mention being fitted to a shoe…surely this is the other way round?
Anyway, love the show!
